Hi there sweet bloggy friends!! I am linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching to share what my week has been like in room 208.

We had a blast celebrating Cinco de Mayo! During the morning hours we did our regular Daily 5 stations , except our focus lessons were centered around multicultural literature. One of our wonderful parent volunteers came and helped us make these cute sombreros:

I thought about making some yummy tacos for Cinco de Mayo...even our picky eaters loved them! We also wrote our personal opinions about tacos. It really was a great day!!!
After eating our yummy tacos we set to make a taco craftivity  following an O.R.E.O. format {opinion-reason-example-opinion} to get this activity, please click HERE!!!

My sweet friend Mrs. Wilson came after Easter telling her students that there is a new law called "Obama-Share!" LOL!!! This law, according to Mrs. Wilson, states that all children should **share** their Easter candy with their teachers...when I heard of it I thought it was absolutely hilarious. So it happened that now I have been using the "Obama-Share" term  in my classroom every time there is an issue, especially when sharing computers and iPads. I decided to go ahead and make a nice poster to put up in the classroom as a friendly reminder.

Don't you think #hashtags in the classroom are the greatest way to spread out content?!?!? I am obsessed... Just in time for the end of the year, I have created a #Hashtag End of the Year Awards. There are about 30 categories that include related hashtags. Head over to my store for a fun and different way to recognize your students' accomplishments!!

This week we are also reading Mother's Day literature and learning about families in North Carolina. I read "Love You Forever" by Robert Munsch  with my firsties and guess what!!??!! I. DID. NOT. CRY.  #epicwin
I am usually a total wet-full-of-mascara mess!!! I woke up on Tuesday morning breathing deeply and thinking that I was going to be able to conquer this read aloud. I guess I cry because I think of my mom getting older. Te quiero mamichula, eres la mejor mamá del mundo!

We have started learning about fractions this week! One of my favorite things to teach!!

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there. I am one busy momma and I love every minute of it!!
Until next time!!
