Six Ways to Celebrate Teachers

ShareTweetPinterestMail
Teacher appreciation

It is no secret that we should celebrate our teachers at the end of the year. Heck! Teachers should be celebrated ALL the time.

Thing is, we never expect to be celebrated. And all of you will agree with me that the best celebration for us, is rooted in seeing our students succeeding, witnessing their productive struggle, and knowing that they are healthy and happy.

This being said, there is nothing wrong with being treated to yummies, being told that we make a difference, and get a pat on the back every now and then. This is a list of six awesome ways to celebrate the awesomeness of teachers:

1.End of the year Luncheon

This is something that my administrators do so well! They treat us to lunch whenever possible! Every year we have an end of the year luncheon that is served in the cafeteria and it is the absolute BEST! We have a school family who owns a restaurant so they cater the most amazing food. And all in all, it is just the perfect little way to close the school year. We laugh, share stories, say goodbye to those who are moving away, and enjoy the yummy food! Best part? we get to sit and have a great conversation with other teachers and staff that we never get to chat with!

2. Have an Award Ceremony for Teachers

Think that award ceremonies are just for kids? Think twice. We teachers love small, but uplifting, treats like this one. This is something that we all crave. We crave the small moments that define us… we love to hear that what we know and do for the students matter, but who we are with them, matters more. You can find this awesome set of  teacher and school awards set from my site or my TPT store.

3. Teacher Self-CareFest

A number of years ago, we had a self-carefest at one of the schools where I worked. Various businesses in the community got together, came to the school, and gave the staff a wonderful experience. We had different self-care stations:

  • A chiropractor business came and gave us short therapeutic massages.
  • A dermatology office gave us all a full skin check!
  • An aesthetician gave us the most relaxing 5-minute hand rub.
  • Somebody who sold oils, made us lavender and other samples of relaxing combinations… (my favorite!)
  • And more!

4. Bring a Food Truck

I cannot say this loud enough: my school has the best PTA in the whole world! Heck, in the whole galaxy! They are known for supplying us with funds at the beginning of the year, purchasing more technology for the classrooms, and truly taking  care of us teachers when we need it most. But celebrations? Girl, celebrations and treating us to the best… that’s what they do.

Normally, they bring a food truck and we get coverage in our classrooms or lunch time. I hope you are not jealous yet.

5. T-Shirts for Everyone

I have never been the recipient of a teacher shirt. But we will do anything to get one! My sweet friend Rachel, who works in another district, told me that her administration is all about t-shirts. I am SO darn jelly!

Teachers and other staff get shirts to show appreciation, to motivate the kids to read more, to develop community, and so much more. What a creative idea!

6. Love Baskets

Fruit baskets, supplies baskets, date night baskets, pampering baskets, Italian dinner baskets… you name it, we love them. A number of years ago our PTA raffled different baskets, I was so lucky to win the date night basket that year! We got movie tickets, and candy! If you loved the GIFT Tags, you can download them HERE!

I hope you found some awesome ideas to treat the special teacher in your life. Thanks for reading teacher friends!
