Engaging resources for your elementary classroom
Meet the teacher night is such an important day. Well, at least in my opinion. I honestly believe that we begin to build relationships with our students the moment that we receive our new class list.
Wouldn’t you agree?
Meet the teacher night, or open house night, is your chance to make a first impression and to get a feel for your students and their parents/caregivers. I normally work diligently in having the classroom looking as welcoming as possible, and in setting up a display that is inclusive for all and that values my students’ diverse backgrounds.
Meet the teacher night is such a special time. You get to meet your students and begin a meaningful relationship with their families. It is for this reason, that I have created this “fool-proof”, “take the stress off” one of the most important times of the year. I have put my heart and soul into this packet of forms and activities to meet your needs.
In this section you will find two fully editable brochures in English and Spanish!
This is what you need to know:
Simply copy front and back! Not cutting or stapling! Easy peasy, lemon squeezy!
Cute, inexpensive, and easy to prep! Just get some candy and place in the center of the card with a glue gun or tape. There are non-food options too!
You can use these cards with ANY type of candy.
I did lollipops, just because they are easy and individually wrapped.
These are a breeze to make! The box of gummies portrayed in the picture are the smallest – individual I could find. However they sell a big box with smaller gummy bears.
Just in case you have a student with severe food allergies, you can always treat them to a non-food related item!
These cards are so cute, inexpensive, and easy to prep! Just get some Jolly Ranchers and place in the center of the card with a glue gun.
In this section you will find two stations signs in English and Spanish. The frames that you see above, are from IKEA but I have seen similar ones at Walmart and Michales. They are really easy to use because one side you can place the English version and on the other side you can place the Spanish version. You can also use Dollar Tree frames!
Both, the English and Spanish versions, are offered in full color and black and white. They are semi-editable

I make the wish list displays on a small cork board, with sticky notes. This way you can add supplies as needed, and parents can remove the sticky notes easily as well. Parents who donate from the wish list, get a heartfelt thank you note. The wish list corkboard stays in the classroom the whole year. I add sticky notes as needs arise and parents take a sticky note to donate when they visit our classroom.
You can purchase this bilingual open house – meet the teacher night from my website or from my TPT store!
